The Danish capital Copenhagen will be among the first 14 destinations chosen by Ryanair for its new base at Southend Airport.
Flights from Southend-Copenhagen starting on April 2. This brand new route will be operated three times a week on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.

Southend Airport has beaten all the other London airports for the fifth year running to be named ‘Best Airport in London’ in the latest Which? airport passenger survey.
This year it boasted a customer satisfaction score of 84% - 14% points more than the next closest airport, London City (70%).

Students and schools across Southend are celebrating yet another impressive set of provisional GCSE results.

Figures from eight out of the borough’s ten schools indicate the number of A*/A grades and A* to E grades were both above the national average.

Passengers at Southend Airport can now enjoy an increased range of food and drink following the opening of Giraffe STOP and Costa Coffee.
The Giraffe STOP, which opened for the first time at the airport yesterday, follows the recent agreement with TRG Concessions to take over catering outlets. The airport also expects to see the opening of bespoke pub brand, The Navigator, later this summer.

A major new festival is coming to Southend this summer, bringing a range of cultural events to the town centre, seafront and Pier.
Inspired by its famous Scottish counterpart, the brand-new Southend Festival has ambitions to become the 'go-to place’ for some of Britain’s top comedians as they warm-up for the famous Edinburgh Fringe. The festival’s organisers, Southend BID, also hopes its exciting, six-week programme of events, including art, music, literature, performance and more will put the Essex coastal town on the wider cultural map.

London Southend Airport owner, Stobart Group, has today announced an exciting new partnership with Ryanair.
This five-year agreement, extendable to ten, will see Ryanair open a new base at London Southend Airport with three Ryanair planes operating out of the airport from Summer 2019, providing 13 routes to eight European countries, including six new destinations.
