ROAD
Southend is connected to the M25 motorway and London by two major roads - the A127 and the A13.
From the north, Southend is accessible via the A1, M11, M25 (Junction 29 - 20 miles) & A127. From the south, Southend is reached via the M25 (Junction 30 - 26 miles) Dartford Tunnel and A13. The A127 dual-carriage is generally a quicker route into central Southend than the A13, but during rush hour and peak summer holiday season all roads can become very congested. Watch out for the 50mph average speed cameras along the A127 as you approach Southend. Southend Council's live traffic cameras provide images from 16 key locations across the borough. You can see the latest pictures here. There are over 10,000 Council-managed car parking spaces in Southend. Be aware, however, that the seafront and central car parks can be extremely busy during the summer, especially at weekends. By Coach National Express operates to/from London Victoria, with the ‘305' service connecting to Southend. The journey time is approximately 2 to 2½ hours. By Bus An extensive network of buses operates between Southend-on-Sea's Travel Centre just off the High Street in and around Southend and surrounding towns.
