A contact centre business in Southend has expanded to create 120 new jobs.

Ventrica, a contact centre business involving calls, email management, web chat, instant messaging and social media, has expanded its second site in Southend to bring in new floor to accommodate its growing team.

The site, Ven2, in Warrior Square, will now accommodate 120 new members of staff, bringing the business’ total number of employees up to 720.

The sixth floor of Ven2 will feature training rooms for Ventrica employees to develop in line with individual and team goals.

Ventrica has experience of providing customer management and sales across an array of industries, including retail, insurance, finance, health, transport, real estate, leisure, hospitality, construction and publishing, with a multi-lingual service.

Dino Forte, CEO and founder Ventrica, said: “The latest expansion of our Southend location is essential to keep up with growing demand.
“More and more organisations across a range of sectors are recognising the importance of placing greater emphasis on CX as their omnichannel offerings grow and develop.

“We are extremely people-centric as a business, so ensuring our teams have the environment they need to fully step into the shoes of the brand they represent is essential; we’ve found that the right environment helps to keep our employees motivated, engaged and dedicated to their roles.

“Creating an environment that our teams really want to spend time and work in is very important to us, so the new floor replicates the rest of the Ventrica offices in that it is extremely spacious and light with incredible views.”

New features of the expanded site include a new Ventrica cinema room. As well as its use for training, presentations and industry events, the cinema will be used for the new Ventrica Cinema Club, which is open for all employees to take part in.

Mr Forte added: “We’re keen to buck the trend when it comes to contact centres, not only in the service we provide for our customers, but also the environment that we create for our employees.

“This has been a big investment for us, but one we never doubted. It’s the start of yet another busy and exciting year for Ventrica as we also look to expand to a third site in the UK and an additional location in Europe to increase our multilingual capabilities.”

Henry Boot Developments (HBD) and Southend Borough Council have secured planning permission for a 124,000 sq ft unit for IPECO Holdings at Airport Business Park.

A world-class, multi-use business park, the 21-ha scheme is being delivered in a joint venture partnership between HBD and Southend Council.

Airport Business Park benefits from 1million sq ft outline planning permission for flexible business space, including HQ-style office buildings, large-scale industrial and warehousing space, hotel facilities and appropriate A3 occupiers.

The scheme forms a central part of an ambitious new vision for Southend, with £65m of investment already identified over the next five years.

Located adjacent to Southend Airport - the fastest growing airport in Europe - and just moments from major road and rail connections, the scheme is unmatched in terms of connectivity.

With plots available from one acre, the scheme is designed to deliver a range of units from 5,000 sq ft upwards with both freehold and leasehold opportunities. Occupiers will benefit from well-designed infrastructure and superfast network speeds in line with Southend Borough Council’s “Gigabit City” initiative.

Delivery of the building is set to commence in the first quarter of 2019 and complete nine months thereafter.

Adrian Schofield, Director and Head of HBD’s London office, said: “Airport Business Park is a real game-changer for Southend and a host of ambitious growing businesses will benefit from the scheme and everything it has to offer. Along with high-quality, purpose built space, the park will also be home to the ‘Launchpad’; an innovation centre for start-ups and SMEs looking to take their business to the next level.”

He continued: “Having secured planning permission for IPECO Holdings’ new unit, we look forward to getting started on site to bring forward this exciting project that will deliver real, tangible benefit to businesses based here, while boosting the economic prosperity of the wider region.”

Outsourced customer contact centre Ventrica based in Southend-on-Sea has entered The Sunday Times Virgin Atlantic Fast Track 100 (2018) for the first time and is ranked as the 63rd fastest growing company in the UK. Ventrica is the only contact centre outsourcing business to feature in this year’s list.

Sponsored by Virgin Atlantic, BDO, Barclays, N+1 Singer & BGF and published annually, The Sunday Times Virgin Atlantic Fast Track 100 league table ranks Britain’s 100 private companies with the fastest-growing sales over their latest three years. It is compiled by Fast Track and published in The Sunday Times each December, with an awards event the following May, and alumni dinners during the year.

Founder and CEO of Ventrica, Dino Forte commented: “We are extremely proud and delighted to announce that we’ve become members of this elite club. To be in the top 100 is not only a fantastic accolade but incredibly prestigious too, as this league table is held in high esteem by business leaders and financial institutions across the globe.

"This is a fantastic end to what has been another great year with the build-out of our second floor at our second site Ven2, further National & European award wins, new contract wins from a number of global brands, new staff joining our Ventrica family and a new Private Equity partner in Mobeus providing us with a £9m investment that will help support our ambitions to continue growth both in the UK and Europe.

"We are first and foremost a people business and it is our Ventricans who are responsible for making this happen. This is the ultimate recognition and a big thank you for all their hard work over the last three years.”

In November 2018, Ventrica picked up a Silver Award for ‘Best Outsourcing Partnership – Large’ in conjunction with client New Look at The European Contact Centre and Customer Service Awards 2018 (ECCCSAs) and earlier in the year won a Gold and Bronze at the UK National Contact Centre Awards.
