Henry Boot Developments (HBD) and Southend Borough Council have secured planning permission for a 124,000 sq ft unit for IPECO Holdings at Airport Business Park.
A world-class, multi-use business park, the 21-ha scheme is being delivered in a joint venture partnership between HBD and Southend Council.
Airport Business Park benefits from 1million sq ft outline planning permission for flexible business space, including HQ-style office buildings, large-scale industrial and warehousing space, hotel facilities and appropriate A3 occupiers.
The scheme forms a central part of an ambitious new vision for Southend, with £65m of investment already identified over the next five years.
Located adjacent to Southend Airport - the fastest growing airport in Europe - and just moments from major road and rail connections, the scheme is unmatched in terms of connectivity.
With plots available from one acre, the scheme is designed to deliver a range of units from 5,000 sq ft upwards with both freehold and leasehold opportunities. Occupiers will benefit from well-designed infrastructure and superfast network speeds in line with Southend Borough Council’s “Gigabit City” initiative.
Delivery of the building is set to commence in the first quarter of 2019 and complete nine months thereafter.
Adrian Schofield, Director and Head of HBD’s London office, said: “Airport Business Park is a real game-changer for Southend and a host of ambitious growing businesses will benefit from the scheme and everything it has to offer. Along with high-quality, purpose built space, the park will also be home to the ‘Launchpad’; an innovation centre for start-ups and SMEs looking to take their business to the next level.”
He continued: “Having secured planning permission for IPECO Holdings’ new unit, we look forward to getting started on site to bring forward this exciting project that will deliver real, tangible benefit to businesses based here, while boosting the economic prosperity of the wider region.”
